Alex Parsons, Communications Manager

FRIB Project Communications Manager

The FRIB Project Communications Manager develops and implements communications strategies that enhance project team effectiveness and communicate project goals to external stakeholders, serves as a point of contact for media inquiries, represents FRIB to external audiences, and produces graphics and print material for reviews and public events.

Parsons joined the FRIB project in 2008 during the application process, working with the proposal team to design and produce visual communications for the proposal and site visits that led to the selection of MSU to design and build FRIB. He came to the project from MSU University Relations, where he worked on creative teams to design and produce a range of projects covering academics and research, operations and outreach, development, marketing, and administrative communications. He also served for more than 10 years as a graphic designer for the Residential and Hospitality Services division at MSU. He earned a BFA in graphic design from Michigan State University in 1991.
