Introductory note, and an invitation to share your thoughts about FRIB

The FRIB project team is pleased that the Cooperative Agreement between the Department of Energy and Michigan State University is in place. We are now moving into the next phase of the project, which includes the analysis of alternatives and research and development activities. Throughout this and other phases of the FRIB project, we will listen to the nuclear science community, the Michigan State University campus community and the Departmentof Energy, so that FRIB will provide scientists with the broadest opportunities for discovery and be integrated into the MSU campus.

I hope this blog will be a way to foster dialogue as FRIB becomes reality over the next decade. Please feel free to post comments here and engage in discussion. We are eager to enable the community of future FRIB users to do great science, which starts with some deep listening at this early phase of the project.

I look forward to providing you additional updates on this blog, and to dialogue that I hope will ensue about the next-generation U.S.rare isotope research facility. Thank you for your interest in FRIB and check back for more updates in the near future.
