Turbo-molecular Pumps

The Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) at Michigan State University intends to purchase turbo-molecular pumps to be utilized as part of a linear accelerator. FRIB requires pumps that are proven in similar lab applications.

FRIB desires to utilize an existing/catalog product that has proven manufacturer support and wear parts availability.

Suppliers who wish to be considered in the bidding process must have:

  • Proven track record of pumps utilized in similar lab application(s)
  • Proven expertise in turbo-molecular pump applications, troubleshooting, etc.

The following will be the basis for evaluating companies participating in this proposal:

  • Conformance to stated requirements
  • Cost (firm fixed price)
  • Service/maintenance intervals
  • References/recommendations
  • Proposed lead time
  • Warranty plan
