FRIB's Witek Nazarewicz receives Casimir Funk Natural Sciences Award

The Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America (PIASA) has awarded Witek Nazarewicz, John A. Hannah Distinguished Professor of Physics and chief scientist at FRIB, with the 2021 Casimir Funk Natural Sciences Award for “his outstanding contributions to the study of nuclear structure, reactions, and astrophysics.”

PIASA’s Funk award, established in 1995, honors Polish scientists living and working in the United States or Canada whose achievements have had a major impact in their field of study.

PIASA will present Nazarewicz with his award at a virtual ceremony in New York later this year, where he will also present a lecture about his research.
