In compliance with Michigan Governor Whitmer’s executive order (executive order 2020-160), the FRIB Laboratory continues to limit on-site functions. Access to the facility is limited to specially-designated employees. Limited laboratory research activities have resumed. All resumed activities are subject to stringent precautionary measures (executive order 2020-161). A significant fraction of FRIB's workforce continues teleworking. As these measures impact your interaction with FRIB personnel, your patience is appreciated during this unprecedented situation. Please contact us at

The National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory offers tours by appointment for interested groups. FRIB will be operational in 2022. Until that time, those interested in rare-isotope research can take a tour of NSCL, which includes information about FRIB. Full tours generally include demonstrations, an introduction to the goals and methods of nuclear science, and a walk-through of vaults where nuclei are accelerated, filtered and/or studied.

Contact the NSCL Outreach Coordinator to inquire about arranging a tour.
