FRIB at Michigan State University: Cutting-edge training, stellar student achievements
Since 1958, Michigan State University has made an international name for itself for its innovations in nuclear science and groundbreaking research. It is now home to the world’s leading rare isotope facility: the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB).
FRIB is the largest campus-based user facility for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE-SC) in support of its Office of Nuclear Physics. From experimental nuclear physics and chemistry to large-scale computational simulations, FRIB and its nuclear science programs provide a learning environment for graduate students, scientists, and researchers to carry out innovative work.
MSU’s nuclear physics graduate program top-ranked by U.S. News & World Report. Over the past five years, MSU has awarded about 15 percent of the nuclear physics doctoral degrees. This makes FRIB an instrumental part of educating award-winning students who go on to become the next generation of nuclear scientists.
From scholarships and fellowships to a host of other honors, FRIB also encourages, supports, and celebrates our students to make the most of their educational experience during their time at Michigan State University.
Celebrating student achievements at FRIB
