Laboratory access for scientific users

FRIB scientific users can request on-site access in the FRIB Scientific User Portal, following these steps:

1. Go to userportal.frib.msu.edu and follow the instructions to log in. Please note that only Google accounts or accounts that have a Google Workspace subscription are supported. Your institutional sign in credentials may work for the Google sign-in; you may wish to check with your institution prior to signing into the FRIB Scientific User Portal.

2. Create a profile if this is your first time logging into the User Portal.

3. Navigate to “Visit FRIB” on the left hand menu.

4. Create a new on-site visit request, or view/edit submitted requests. Please note that you should be listed on an approved experiment prior to requesting on-site access to FRIB. You can check the approved experiments that you are listed on in the User Portal as well.

5. Once your request has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Manager for User Relations, and training will be assigned. You will receive an automated email when training has been assigned. Please be sure to complete all training at least 2 days prior to your arrival at FRIB.

FRIB has on-campus accommodations available for scientific users as well as a number of local hotels with reduced rates.
