The DOE-SC Office of Project Assessment’s (OPA) review of FRIB was held November 17-18. The main focus of the review was to assess overall FRIB Project progress since the last review in March/April 2015, with a focus on technical progress. The review committee was organized into five subcommittees and FRIB staff gave 42 presentations.

The OPA assessed all aspects of the FRIB Project – technical, cost, schedule, management, and environmental safety and health – and found that FRIB is overall making appropriate progress toward completion. The review committee answered all charge questions affirmatively, and the committee was impressed with progress in technical and civil construction. The committee’s comments and recommendations were thoughtful and supportive of FRIB’s progress.
