FRIB’s heavy-ion facilities, including the FRIB Single Event Effects Facility (FSEE) and the in-progress K500 Chip Testing Facility (KSEE), address the national shortage of testing capacity for advanced microelectronics.
The FRIB Users Organization (FRIBUO) is an independent scientific user organization of approximately 1,800 scientists, postdoctoral research associates, and graduate students from universities, national laboratories, and industry who engage in science at FRIB. An anticipated 1,000 scientific users will visit the facility each year.
FRIB’s bridge and fellowship programs are designed to broaden faculty hiring opportunities at leading U.S. research universities and national laboratories, with a strong emphasis on advancing scientific research that aligns with FRIB’s mission.
