The Experimental Systems Advisory Committee (ESAC) held a review of FRIB experimental systems 3-5 May. The focus of the review was to assess whether remaining scope, estimated cost to completion, and schedule for Experimental Systems Division (ESD) are understood and appropriately progressing. All charge questions were answered affirmatively.

ESAC reviewed the remaining technical scope in several areas with regard to cost and risks as well as high likelihood of delivery. ESAC also evaluated the integration of remaining design and fabrication and assessed whether appropriate quality assurance is in place.

ESAC provided a number of recommendations and advice, including ensuring detailed and up-to-date technical documentation, and defining installation roles and responsibilities.
