The ISO9001 quality management system (QMS) audit was completed in May by FRIB’s external certification body, National Sanitation Foundation-International Strategic Relations (NSF-ISR)(link is external). There were no audit findings.

This successful audit demonstrates the laboratory’s commitment to delivering world-class beams of rare isotopes and to delivering the FRIB Project scope on schedule, within budget, safely, and with high quality, to enable FRIB users to achieve their scientific objectives.

Michigan State University (MSU) operates the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) as a user facility for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science(link is external) (DOE SC), with financial support from and furthering the mission of the DOE‑SC Office of Nuclear Physics. FRIB is registered to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, and ISO 45001.
