The DOE-SC Office of Project Assessment (OPA) held a review of FRIB 14-16 May. The main focus of the review was to assess overall FRIB Project progress since the last review in November 2018, with a focus on technical progress.

The review committee was organized into four subcommittees, and FRIB staff gave forty-nine presentations.

The OPA assessed all aspects of the FRIB Project — technical, cost, schedule, management, and environmental safety and health — and found that FRIB is making appropriate progress toward completion and is well-managed. The review committee answered all charge questions affirmatively, and stated FRIB commissioning and pre-operations are very well-planned and executed.

The next DOE OPA review of FRIB is 13-15 November.
