Involvement
Public input
During the planning phase for the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams, the environmental impacts of constructing and operating the proposed facility on MSU’s campus were researched. The findings were taken into consideration as the facility was planned and built. In addition, meetings were held to gather public input on the project.
The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 requires environmental impact analysis for major federal actions that may significantly affect the quality of the environment.
