17 May 2018

FRIB invites the community to a soprano and piano recital at the laboratory on 25 May.

The recital features soprano Lia Naviliat-Cuncic and pianist Manuel Vieillard. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Room 1300 FRIB Laboratory, 640 South Shaw Lane, on Michigan State University’s campus. Parking will be available in the Shaw Lane and Wharton Center parking ramps. More information about the performance can be found on the event web page.

The concert is part of the Advanced Studies Gateway at FRIB that will feature research workshops as well as public talks, concerts, and other events that are free and open to the public. The program brings together researchers, innovators, creative thinkers, artists, and performers from all fields and strengthens ties between Michigan State University and the larger science community.

“The Advanced Studies Gateway is about inspiring people and sparking creative new ideas,” said Dean Lee, FRIB Professor of Physics. “We provide an inviting collaborative environment where leading researchers investigate the latest scientific advances, accomplished musicians present innovative concerts, and fascinating speakers share their engaging stories during evening public talks. The concert series is starting now, and the other activities will begin in the near future.”

“We are excited the Advanced Studies Gateway at FRIB will expand our connection with the science and local community,” said Thomas Glasmacher, FRIB Laboratory director.
