The DOE-SC Office of Project Assessment (OPA) held its independent project review of FRIB 13-15 November. The main focus of the review was to assess overall FRIB Project progress since the last review in May 2019, with a focus on technical progress.

The review committee was organized into four subcommittees, and FRIB staff gave 41 presentations.

The OPA assessed all aspects of the FRIB Project — technical, cost, schedule, management, and environmental safety and health — and found that FRIB is making appropriate progress toward completion and is well-managed.

The next DOE OPA review of FRIB is scheduled for 12-14 May 2020.
