The fabrication of a High Power Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Magnet is required for operations at FRIB at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. It is important that all specifications and requirements are met.

The High Power Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Magnet is a FRIB specifications/supplier aided design requirement, in which FRIB will provide specifications via a statement of work (SOW). Supplier is responsible for:

  • Furnish all labor, equipment, material, and perform all work and services necessary to design, fabricate, plate, test, inspect, package, and deliver the High Power Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Magnet in accordance with the FRIB engineering specifications and statement of work (SOW)
  • Project schedule
  • Fabrication plan
  • Design review
  • Documentation per the engineering specifications and statement of work (SOW)

Suppliers who wish to be considered in the bidding process must have:

  • Experience in fabricating and delivering High Power Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Magnet (references/recommendations)
  • Experience with effective management of complex projects, including the oversight of project milestone deliverables
  • Quality Management System (ISO/AS 9001 or equivalent)
  • Experience with managing and monitoring tier I and tier II suppliers
  • Quality control inspection requirements for incoming material, material certifications, plating, and final inspection
  • Processes and systems to manage documentation requirements
  • Warranty plan

The following will be the basis for evaluating companies participating in this proposal:

  • Cost (firm fixed price)
  • References/recommendations
  • Experience with effective management of complex projects, including the oversight of project milestone deliverables
  • Quality Management System (ISO/AS 9001 or equivalent)
  • Experience with managing and monitoring tier I and tier II suppliers
  • Quality control inspection requirements for incoming material, material certifications, and plating
  • Processes and system to manage documentation requirements
  • Capability to meet the required packaging flow-down requirements
  • Proposed lead time
  • Warranty plan
