Join us for a discussion between Abel Korinsky, the inaugural MSUFCU Arts Power Up Artist-in-Residence at FRIB, and Hendrik Schatz, University Distinguished Professor with faculty appointments at FRIB and in MSU’s Department of Physics and Astronomy and director of the International Research Network for Nuclear Astrophysics (IReNA). They will explore the fascinating intersection of artistic expression and scientific discovery.
Light refreshments will be served following the event.
The MSUFCU Arts Power Up Art Residency at FRIB is generously supported by an endowed gift from the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union.
Presenters
Abel Korinsky is one half of Studio Korinsky. Along with Carlo Korinsky, the two media artists conduct research into the reciprocal dynamics among sound, light and architecture, with a focus on how time-based media can be harnessed to create and transform the atmosphere of a space.
Hendrik Schatz is the University Distinguished Professor with faculty appointments at FRIB and in MSU’s Department of Physics and Astronomy and director of the International Research Network for Nuclear Astrophysics (IReNA). He has been a part of the FRIB staff since 1999 and holds his PhD in physics from the University of Heidelberg.
