Membership of FRIB Users Organization (FRIBUO) jumped from 875 to more than 1,000 following votes in November to merge the NSCL User Group and FRIB Theory Users Group with FRIBUO.

FRIBUO's members are planning to conduct scientific research at FRIB and are developing new technology for nuclear science research. There are more than 20 working groups focused on experimental equipment in the organization, and FRIBUO has conducted several meetings and workshops since May 2009 to prepare for scientific discoveries when FRIB turns on.

More information about FRIBUO is available at fribusers.org.

Michigan State University (MSU) operates the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) as a user facility for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE SC), with financial support from and furthering the mission of the DOE‑SC Office of Nuclear Physics. FRIB is registered to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, and ISO 45001.
