In the news: Energy Sec. Chu says U.S. government planning to fund FRIB

The Detroit Free Press reported comments from U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu today in support of FRIB.

“We want to fund it and plan to fund it,” Chu told the Detroit Free Press.

In January, comments by Chu raised concerns about funding for the project.

Michigan State University (MSU) operates the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) as a user facility for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE SC), with financial support from and furthering the mission of the DOE‑SC Office of Nuclear Physics.
