FRIB instruments

FRIB will be the world’s premier rare-isotope beam facility producing a majority (approximately 80 percent) of the isotopes predicted to exist. To realize the unprecedented discovery potential of FRIB, exquisite, state-of-the-art experimental instruments are needed. The instruments will enable scientists to study these isotopes at the highest rates produced.

Some FRIB instruments are in use now at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory and others are being developed. Learn more about current and future instruments by following the links in the navigation box at right.
