FRIB PAC2 Call for Proposals webinar

Following the second FRIB Program Advisory Committee (PAC2) Call for Proposals, which was issued on 28 October 2022, FRIB Scientific Director Brad Sherrill (FRIB) and FRIB Theory Alliance Director Daniel Phillips (Ohio University) will host a webinar on Monday, 5 December 2022, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. EST.

The webinar will provide information on the Call for Proposals for PAC2 and provide an opportunity for scientific users to ask questions.

The presentation by FRIB Scientific Director Brad Sherrill will include information on:

  • FRIB status, highlighting new vaults, new beams, and beam power
  • PAC2 Call for Proposals, highlighting new sections in the proposal application
  • PAC evaluation criteria
  • ReA stand-alone program
  • Beam rates for PAC2 proposals

Following the presentation from the FRIB Scientific Director, FRIB Theory Alliance (FRIB-TA) Director Daniel Phillips (Ohio University) will present information on how FRIB-TA can assist experimental colleagues before, during, and after the proposal-writing process.

A key part of the mission of FRIB-TA is to "optimize the coupling between theory and experiment.” The scientists at universities and national laboratories who make up FRIB-TA are strongly committed to the theory-experiment cycle that deepens our understanding of nuclear physics. Phillips will describe FRIB-TA’s make-up and activities, emphasizing the pathways FRIB-TA has created for experimental colleagues to connect with theorists who are ready, willing, and able to provide motivation and interpretation for experiments at FRIB.

The webinar will be hosted on Zoom. Please use the link below to join on 5 December 2022 at 2:30 p.m. EST. Registration is not required.
