The FRIB Visiting Scholar Program for Experimental Science encourages and helps junior researchers to establish a research program at FRIB.

Initiated in 2016, the FRIB Visiting Scholar Program for Experimental Science supports short-term stays at FRIB for junior/non-tenured faculty or staff members. It consists of a stipend intended for travel and local expenses. 

 

Call for applications: FRIB Visiting Scholar Program for Experimental Science 2026

The application period for the FRIB Visiting Scholar Program for Experimental Science 2026 is now open.

The program was started to encourage and help junior researchers to establish a research program at FRIB. The award supports short-term stays at FRIB for junior/non-tenured faculty or staff members. It consists of a stipend of $5,000 intended for travel and local expenses. Please note: FRIB Experimental Bridge Faculty members are not eligible for the Visiting Scholar Award.

Interested individuals should send a CV and a one- to two-page description of the research program and specific goals of the collaboration to the FRIB Manager for User Relations at useroffice@frib.msu.edu.

Applications are due 1 February 2026.
