The Department of Energy (DOE) and Michigan State University hosted an educational open house and public scoping meeting on November 11, 2009, to inform the public about and involve the public in the preparation of an Environmental Assessment for the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams.
During the educational open house, visitors viewed exhibits, reviewed project materials, spoke with subject matter experts, and toured the laboratory. Following the open house, a public scoping meeting was held in the Biomedical and Physical Sciences Building. The meeting included a presentation by project officials about the proposed action to build the FRIB on the campus of Michigan State University (MSU). There was opportunity for questions and answers, and opportunity for public comment.
Public comment may be submitted in writing or on-line through December 11, 2009.
