U.S. Representative Tim Walberg from Michigan's 7th Congressional District toured FRIB and received a project update from Thomas Glasmacher, FRIB Project Manager, on November 22. He was impressed by the project's progress and its potential for scientific discovery and economic impact in Michigan and nationwide.
"It was an honor to visit MSU and learn about the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams. This project will catapult MSU further into the big-leaguers of scientific discovery, allowing researchers to answer key questions that have been left unanswered for so long," said Rep. Walberg. "It will also attract more of the best and brightest to the area. This is a project that will not only benefit other sciences, but homeland security, medicine, and our nation's economy."
