FRIB hosts Under Secretary for Nuclear Security of the U.S. Department of Energy and Administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration

On 5 May, FRIB hosted Jill Hruby, Under Secretary for Nuclear Security of the U.S. Department of Energy and Administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration. Hruby toured FRIB after addressing Michigan State University graduates during a spring commencement ceremony.

FRIB Laboratory Director Thomas Glasmacher hosted Hruby during her visit. She took a tour of the facility and discussed FRIB’s history, progress, science, and technology along the way. In addition, Hruby met with NNSA-funded FRIB faculty, postdocs, and graduate students during her visit.

Michigan State University (MSU) operates the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) as a user facility for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE-SC), supporting the mission of the DOE-SC Office of Nuclear Physics. User facility operation is supported by the DOE-SC Office of Nuclear Physics as one of 28 DOE-SC user facilities.
