On 22-24 January, FRIB hosted the Accelerator Science & Engineering (AS&E) Workforce Roundtable and the Office of High Energy Physics (HEP) Accelerator Traineeship Principal Investigator (PI) Meeting for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE-SC).
The AS&E Workforce Roundtable identified issues in the AS&E workforce and potential solutions, with a specific focus on workforce needs for DOE’s major accelerator facilities. The HEP Accelerator Traineeship PI meeting focused on sharing experience, efficiency, and improvements of the traineeship programs conducted in many U.S. universities.
Attendees participated in the workshops and took a tour of FRIB. In total, 43 individuals attended, representing 18 institutions.
